What is SmartXide?

The SmartXide laser skin re-surfacing treatments represent the very latest in tissue rejuvenation laser technology. What does the fractional laser treatment feel like?

There is minimal, if any discomfort during the procedure. Rarely, a mild burning sensation may occur. No topical anesthetic is required except where the procedure is carried out close to the eye, when it may be appropriate to use protective eye shields in the eye with anesthetic eye drops as a precautionary measure to protect the eye itself.

What can I expect after the treatment?

Most people have some pinkness and some even a small amount of swelling in the skin which settles in 24 hours and can therefore return to work the next day. Make-up can be worn the next day. Regular application of moisturisers is recommended for the first 5-7 days as the skin may feel a little dry.
